Monochromatic Redux by ~Varelse42 gives your desktop an incredibly nice trashy look. It makes perfect use of high quality images and simultaneously fits any screen resolution which is quite rare. If you like that trashy, underground, graffiti style, this is probably the best suite you have come along with so far.

This is the promised sequel to my Monochromatic mini-suite I promised back in October. It's finally a full featured suite! Requires the latest version of Rainmeter

Instructions:
Extract and install into My Documents/Rainmeter/Skins. If you use any other directory, it will not work. Open up DefaultVariables.txt and change the variables to suit you.

To display the lyrics, add an exception to your firewall and antivirus. You will also need to uncheck Keep On Screen for the skins menu. It also doesn't like the song being changed frequently.

To change the height of the frame, open up DefaultVariables.txt located in Rainmeter\Skins\Redux and set Taskbar to whatever to want. To get rid of the space, set Taskbar to 0.

Requires Nircmd for the volume control.

Hey mate, Love the skin but I ran into a snag. I want the dock to open a overclocking programs. Monitoring programs such as CPUz, GPUz, and HWmonitor open fine. Burn tests though (FurMark, intelburntestV2, and prime95) do not open however. Not sure what it is, perhaps the way the computer interprets the file?

For anyone trying to fix the lyrics. The current work around I am using:

Under the [mLyrics] field remove what is there and paste:

Measure

lugin

Substitute="":"Searching..."

This atleast will display the saved lyrics in your music player rather than just showing blank since the script no longer works.

i have a question.example, at august 11, when the clock strikes 12 midnight then goes to august 12, 12:01, the first highlighted date(11) at the horizontal calendar is still highlighted and the present date(12) is also highlighted.same goes for what day of the week is it(example both Saturday at 11 and Sunday at 12 are highlighted).

how do you reset the values so the past dates wouldn't also be highlighted?please answer.it's bugging me.

All You need to do is refresh the skin. That will get rid of it. Or add this code to the skin:

Measure=Time
Format=%H

[M]
Measure=Time
Format=%M

[S]
Measure=Time

[Refresh]
Measure=Calc
Formula= ((H=0) && (M=0) && (S=1)) ? 1 : 0
IfEqualValue=1
IfEqualAction=!RainmeterRefresh

It basically looks at the time, and if it is one second after midnight, it will refresh the skin automatically.

Hi um im relatively new to rainmeter as in i just got it today and i am having some problems with it i know how to set up everything but for the Lyrics i dont know how to make them show i put in a url of lyrics? and it comes up blank. Also have a problem with clicking buttons and the program not showing i understand it needs a path? but i really dont know how to do that yet i could use all the help you can offer (also the weather one i cant get it to work and i tried the url) TY...sorry if its alot

I really love your skin,but I don't know why the lyric bar doesn't work : "Upgrade to LyricsPlugin version 0.4 " is write instead of my lyrics,so i had install Lyricplugin for iTunes and it works well on iTunes but nothing on your skins

Yeah, it doesn't work any more. The website went down. I plan on releasing a 'fixed' version sometime, probably in the distant future.

YO I just wanna ask. my screen resolution is 1360x768 so the frame skin does not fit. how do i adjust this ? i auto-hide my taskbar so i'd wanna make the frame for the entire screen

I'm guessing there's a gap on the top. Open up the DefaultVariables.txt file in Skin\Redux and change TASKBAR to 0 and save and refresh all.

Well, I know that there is an experimental build of Nowplaying that supports lyrics [link] I've never used it though. You would probably have to build your own skin.

i love your skin...but:
1.at dock: the 7th and 8th icons are interchanged (i add some new in the defaultvariables)
2.the music buttons in frame doesnt work for me
3.at rss skin: the second and 3th titels are interchanged

and some wishes

1.plz support >4 CPU cores
2.plz more then 9 dock icons (i add a 10th and it doesnt work)
3.plz dont strech the pics at slideshow skin!
4.sry 4 my bad english

Thanks for the feedback. The music player only works with iTunes and idk why the buttons don't work. I have a new version planned, but no time frame for completion. I'll keep your suggestions in mind when I make it.

It's a false positive. The mediaplayer uses a .vbs script to get lyrics from a (no longer working) site. That is what is probably setting off your antivirus. Just delete it. It's in Redux\Music\misc.

Go to Rainmeter.net. Look for a section called Download on the main page. Select either the Rainmeter 2.0 or the Rainmeter 2.1 Beta. It'll ask if you want to download Rainmeter. Click yes. Find where you downloaded it, and double click the installer. The installer will walk through the steps. Here's the tricky part--don't hit cancel during the instillation. If you do, it will cancel the installation. I hope that helps.
